—————————————————————————-

Hi

We just had a well attended quarterly meeting meeting which i hope was both interesting & enjoyable for all who came along.

————————————————————————-

Many subjects were covered including the River Fly Monitoring Project for the Clyde catchment & the part the UAAA will play in it – we will be working hand in hand with the team from the Clyde River Foundation the idea is to regularly check the fly life in the River & Burns which will provide information on any pollution & act as an early warning of an issue. The Clubs finances, membership , the policies of stocking, the rules at the reservoir, SANA, the fish caught, the work going on at our hatchery & rearing pond complex. We are lucky to have an enthusiastic, growing membership, volunteers & Committee – we are committed to being a welcoming, open & friendly club which is why we continue to grow in strength – so please come along and get involved. If you are interested in getting involved you can come along to our Meetings the next meeting is our AGM on Wednesday the 6th of November at the Ballgreen Hall, Glasgow Road, Strathaven at 19.30.

The Members Competition is on Sunday 1st of September at the Reservoir more details to follow – all members are welcome both River & Reservoir members (when you consider that our river membership is only £10 per year including your entry into fishing our competition – i don’t think there is a better value ticket around) – all you need do is turn up on the day with a valid permit. The Club is keen to put forward successful anglers from this competition to the relevant SANA events.

Both the River & Reservoir are starting to fish well after the recent warm spell & subsequent rain – there have been 2lb plus Trout taken by some of our more senior anglers on the river. There have been some big catches at the Reservoir in the last few days – reports to come.

—————————————————————————————————————————————The UAAA has joined SANA the Scottish Anglers National Association.

Scottish Anglers National Association If you want to know more about SANA please check out there webpages SANA – we hope and intend that we will work together with SANA to help develop our friendly wee club to continue to exist for many years to come.

Just want to say thanks to one of our keen members who has been kind enough to send in a few recent snaps from the Reservoir and the River.
